Slow Hibernate proformance improved/fixed

My computer was taking about 13 min to shut off when hibernating.

I discovered this web page

http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/windo...vices-quicker/

and discovered that the registry key
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\WaitToKillServiceTimeout
was set to 190000ms when, according to ths website, it is defaulted to
20000ms.
I set it to 5000ms, the min recomended by this page, and my computer
hibernates in about 1min.

I also have a problem with my machine taking too long to hibernate. I
checked that registry value, but for some reason it was already set to
2000 (not the 20000 default).

Re: Slow Hibernate proformance improved/fixed

Hum. I never received a comment from Microsoft on this issue. I did install
sp1 RC though, before trying this fix. All I know is, I never set the value
of that key to 190000, so it must be an update that did or something.
Hibernate worked fine for awhile after I first installed vista. The same for
you?
