Vista Home Premium -- Sleep- two separate related/ unrelated issues?

    1) System will not awaken properly from sleep mode even with Power Options
    set to default.

Often must re-power up yet computer resumes Windows after going to on/off
switch rather than moving mouse which often results in nothing happening,
other than the computer stalling, or appearing to stall.

    2) Also USB devices are having drivers reinstalled from awakening, printer
    in particular.

    What are best settings?

    For example?
Device manager> USB root hub> do I set power management to allow computer to
turn off this device to save power

Do I check this allow box?

Please be very specific, am new user.

    Cordially,
    Robert

    Go to Advance Power Settings.
Set hard drive to turn off a minute or 2 before sleep.

Set Hybrid and Hibernate modes to "Off"

    Under USB settings select "Disable"

    Under Multimedia select "Allow ....."

I went to the site and clicked that I needed a hotfix and that to me implied
'reapplied', since I could not open the first hotfix sent to me. A new
hotfix link as sent to me.

Not opening the file was probably my error as I was unaware of right
clicking on the file to get admin privileges to install hotfix. Problem
    solved,
    Robert
