| | update does not apply to your system error when the system is corr I am trying to download an update that removes the "Driver has stopped working and Recovered" error but when I try to run the update (I have a Compaq T2080 Notebook with Windows Vista Home Premium) it says that it doesn't apply to my system. I downloaded the one for 32bit systems, so isn't that the right update? Any help would be greatly appreciated. |

| | RE: update does not apply to your system error when the system is corr Hard to say without knowing which update you are trying to install. Go here http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx/ph/11732 and enter the update number and it will explain the applicability of the update. For example, the error message you mention (or one similar) occurs on systems with nVidia graphics cards and older drivers. If you try to install this and don't have and nVidia card, it won't install. | | RE: update does not apply to your system error when the system is corr Check under installed updates to make sure it's not already installed. Also, not every update is for every system, many updates are specific to certain software/drivers and/or components. For installed update Control Panel > (left upper corner) View installed updates Check the list for KB940105 (FYI: didn't apply to my system either) http://support.microsoft.com/Default.aspx?kbid=940105 "Rogueninja" wrote: Quote: > I am trying to download an update that removes the "Driver has stopped > working and Recovered" error but when I try to run the update (I have a > Compaq T2080 Notebook with Windows Vista Home Premium) it says that it > doesn't apply to my system.
