Installed 8 GB RAM

Dear all,
Good morning everybody.... I think it is the first thing eh eh eh

I have an AMD Comuter. Motherboard ASUS M2N32-SLI Deluxe WL
CPU AMD 5600+
Graphic Card nVideia Ge Force 8600 GT
And I had 4 GB DDR2 800 NANYA..

All of the sudden, yesterday the computer presentation after the boot showed 3.076 GB when before was showing 4.096 GB.
I decided to buy new and Better RAM I bought OCZ2P8004GK, which is consisting of 2 GB every slot.
I put 4 of them hoping to see 8 GB, but I still see 3.
In the Bios, the MOBO see 8 GB. Why I cannot see in Vista Ultimate 64?
And what I can do? I really appreciate your help in this matter...
Sorry for the silli question

Re: Installed 8 GB RAM

I would check in the BIOS, there might be a setting to enable more than 4Gb

Did you enable the memory remapping feature in the BIOS?

Re: Installed 8 GB RAM

I have the same problem. I used to see 8gb in the task manager but now it only shows 3326mb. It shows 8gb in other places (sys info). And the bios recognizes all the ram. I'm stumped and I can't find anything about it on the net.

Hello everybody,
Based on my limited knowledge and lack of using technical terminologies, this is the bottom : Regardless of how many more EXTRA GB you installed, your computer can only recgonise what it is capable of using. Over and above that, they will just sit there and rot. Sorry.
