| Vista Home Premium 32bit | "Windows cannot find " message Since about a week ago, I keep getting these error messages when I launch system-related applications/applets (e.g. the System Properties, Control Panel Applets) - the requested application launches okay, but in parallel a dialog box opens with the message as in the pics below, and the busy cursor continues to whirr away until I ok the dialog. It's an annoyance at the moment but seems not to impede working on the PC but I am worried it's a sign that something's on its way to screwing up. OS is Home Premium 32-bit Anyone able to advise ? ![]() Thanks, Steve ![]() |

| | Re: "Windows cannot find " message I just downloaded Firefox 2,then Google toolbar. Now when I click on a link in an email or desktop, I get a message "windows cannot find... then the address" but then it displays the site. A message bar remains until I click it off. After uninstalling Google toolbar, the problem stopped. Peggy -- pegrdh Posted via http://www.vistaheads.com |

| Vista Home Premium 32bit | Re: "Windows cannot find " message Peggy, I never have had any sensible suggestion from the various places I have asked this. I have a suspicion that Google Toolbar may have been installed inadvertently by a family member at some point in the recent past and then de installed again - I wonder if that has any bearing on my problem... - I'll have a dig around when I get an opportunity and see if there are any rogue registry settings left behind. If I find out anything I will post it here. Cheers, Steve |
