Aero in general is an additional layer of eye candy, so it will ding system performance on it's own. The rating simply decides that Aero can run without causing a noticable difference in performance. If so how can I increase the rating? services (Black viper's Vista Services Tweaks), shut down indexing, and got a 5 rating on everything (mid-range computer). It looks like W2K and acts more like WXP (sigh, I wish). Aero is beautiful at first but gets old quickly when it slows the system down even slightly. Just my 2 cents worth. |
