USB Thumb drive, Protection

How do I remove write protection from a USB thumb drive? Files on the
drive, which I don't need, are not archived.

Re: USB Thumb drive, Protection

It's likely that you have failed to notice a very small slider on the side
of the thumb drive, to write protect it. A lot of people have failed to see
that.

Re: USB Thumb drive, Protection

Can't find slider on any of my thumb drives, only one of which is
"write-protected".

Re: USB Thumb drive, Protection

You can 'take ownership' of the files. If you have trouble seeing the
Permissions button on the Properties, you can boot to safe Mode (F8 on
restart)
