installed sp1 for vista now get a error message

alright I am back, I went and downloaded the sp1 update this morning and
everything supposively went well with the download and then when I rebooted
it this afternoon it gave me a message windows is shutting down due to a
critical problem and will shut down in one minute and reboot. This is very
frustrating I just got this laptop a week and a half ago and with this update
it isn't starting. I tried to go and do a system restore before the program
shuts down and it doesn't allow me to do it says there is no path to it or
something like that
any help would be awesome
It is a HP Pavilion dv6780 with 3 gigs of memory and 160 gig of hard drive

Re: installed sp1 for vista now get a error message

Hi Great Gal,

SSDD for me - except mine is a Dell Inspiron. I've even gone so far as
to perform mouse clicks _with a different finger_ in case the issue
was me.

Microsoft testers do not deserve a quarterly bonus.

Re: installed sp1 for vista now get a error message

Hi Jeffrey, well I ended up doing a system restore in safe mode and got it
back to the way it was before the update I have decided to not update to the
SP1 until they get all the bugs out of it. I am thinking it has to do with a
program that I have installed that it isn't compatible with. Just a thought
not sure if it was the problem though.
Good Luck Jeffrey that is the only thing I can suggest.
