| | F3 Search Broken I'm running Vista Ultimate SP1. I just noticed about a week ago that my F3 key is not working in Vista. When I try to use it to open up search I get the following error.... Search: This file does not have a program associated with it for performing this action. Create an association in the Set Associations control panel. If I try to use F3 while on the desktop I get... Search:crumb=location:C%3A%5CUsers%5CMYNAME%5CDesktop This file does not have a program associated with it for performing this action. Create an association in the Set Associations control panel. |

Does pressing "Windows Key + F" open the Search window for you? Shawn |

Create an association in the Set Associations control panel" I was of afraid of that. See if running a "sfc /scannow" (no quotes) command can find and fix any bad system files that may be causing this. This tutorial will show you how if needed. System Files - SFC Command Shawn |
