Vista Shuts Down Computer

Hi Everyone,

Last year I got a new Dell with Vista installed on it. I've not had any
problems until now. First, the button on the monitor (flat screen) was stuck
and instead of being green colored, was yellow. Next, if you aren't working
on the computer, the computer shuts down...takes about a minute or two. Then
one must turn on the power strip, the computer and take the choice of
starting in safe mode, etc., and I choose the normal mode. I get a lot of
"not responding" to web sites. I did a restore to find out if that
helped....not. I'm running Spyware Doctor and Spy Sweeper. I deleted McAfee
(corrected a lot of small problems) and am now running AVG.

Yes, I'm ready to join the long list of Vista moaners and groaners. Will
someone please guide me in the direction of solving the problems. All help is
appreciated. Thanks, Sunflower.

Hi Sunflower,

Double check your Power Plan Options to make sure that they are not set to shutdown the computer to soon. You can see how in Step Two of this tutorial.
