You don't need to, Vista defragments automatically.

Re: Defragging

Hi,

Defrag is done automatically by Vista and you cannot review the results.
IMO, it does OK, but I use and recommend PerfectDisk 2008 Professional. It
has the user interface we were all accustom to and has many options to suite
your needs.

Re: Defragging

You could google for automatic defragmenters and try out the demo version and decide what works for you.

Re: Defragging

The vista defrag has no GUI, and offers little control over the process. Check out a good third party automatic defragmenter with a proper GUI and comprehensive controls and defrag modes. You get the best of both worlds- automatic defrag as well as comprehensive control. Far better than the old manual/scheduled defrag in terms of resource usage and with great performance too.

Google for 'fully automatic defragmenter' ....

Hello Faithyy,
As the replies you received, Vista defrag is done automatically. However, if you want to watch defrag in action and "view results", you can download Auslogics Disk Defrag 1.4.14.3 (1.36 MB ) Here is the link : --
