HELP (Critical Error)

Please I really need help:

I have windows vista home basic and just installed Windows Vista Service
pack 1 i did it on windows update and when it was done it restarted to go on
to the next step: Installing Service Pack Stage 1 of 3 0-100% but didnt
restart at the end and stage 2 of 3 did and 3 of 3 didnt and when i logged in
like 2 minutes later it come up with this CRITICAL Error: Windows has found a
critical error the system will restart in one minute and it restarted but
reoccured so now i am using safe mode with networking to tell you of my
problem right now.

Microsoft i really like to hear from. I do hope of a soulution either in
safe mode or on booting etc.

said in windows update.

Is It alright if i try service pack again?

Re: HELP (Critical Error)

Installtion of SP1 via Windows Updste requires prior installation of two key
updates - wheterh or not they hae been installed determines size of the SP1
installation - a 64 mb SP1 indicates "probable" pre installation of required
updates.

The three stages of installation do take a lot of time - your options are to
try another install via upgrade site of get the "full" SP1 package.
