| Vista Home Basic 32bit | Re: avast antivirus..help me!!! if i understand you correctly, did you mean "disconnect"? i have avast! and when it detects a virus while browsing, it may instruct me to "disconnect" (actually, it probably uses the words "abort connection"). hope this helps. |

| Vista Ultimate x32 | Re: avast antivirus..help me!!! avast protected you by the order of desconect so that the site trying to violate into your pc was blocked. thats o.k. now you know that site its a trap for all meanings. Keep the VRDB of Avast funcional. Activate it for a complete reading once in a while and deactivate it when done. It protects virus data base of avast, so thus preventing a virus of destroying the anti-virus and acess your system. May you consider having also Spyware Doctor program installed toghether with avast, one kisses the other in good harmony, getting you high in net surfing safe. |

I'm trying to resolve this with them, but do not know if there will be a solution. Thank you - Lester |

| Vista Ultimate x32 | Re: avast antivirus..help me!!! Hi Lester, I do run avast pro, v.4.8 and Spyware Doctor v.5.5.0.212 whithout its anti-virús, they work very well toghether and never gave me problems. Work well over XPīs and Vistaīs. Its a nice duet and i pratice them to all the clients i get. Mostly private users and small companies without networks, just running single pcīs. For bigger enterprises thatīs another history. I donīt like Panda, i had an issue with them when they firstly came to the market, wasted money with the products and after i didnīt get any support but a sort of joke between Portugal and Spain phone calls, well. a month ago i was called to clean a butch of Trojans, keyloggers, in a office where they had Panda freshly running and Panda didnīt protect them nothing at all, it was atacked first by this viroses and then they went for the system. Avast as this VRDB wich seals its virus data base thus preventing being afected and also garanties the true removal of virus. Nobody "feels" the presence of this Avast working permanently over the system, its good and its light. Spyware Doctor just also complements the rest of the protection on its own and kills anything that its ready to kill. Many others detect threats but donīt remove them. Panda itīs another heavy duty anti-virús that takes more out of the pc then the user itself, like Symantec, McAfee, etc. |

| | Re: avast antivirus..help me!!! 1. I think the webpage that you opened had malware, which Avast tried to protect you from. You ought to check your computer for spyware, etc; read this: http://techqi.blogspot.com/2008/01/m...re-part-1.html. 2. As much as it's loved, Avast doesn't have the best real-time scanner out there (here's my experience: http://avscan.blogspot.com/2008/01/a...on-review.html). You might want to grab a different antivirus; check out http://avscan.blogspot.com. 3. Are you using a good firewall? XP's firewall is far from perfect, so you definitely need something. I suggest ZoneAlarm (http:// techqi.blogspot.com/2008/01/miscellaneous-security-software- part-2.html). Good luck! ---- tashfeen http://techqi.blogspot.com http://avscan.blogspot.com |
