Screenshot- to join a group ??

Hello everyone,
I was told less than 20 min. ago that all my screenshots require people to join something before they can see the screenshots. THAT is a shock ! I had no idea, absolutely none! Will someone please tell me how to correct this stupidity ? PLEASE!!

t-4-2,

Nobody has to join anything. They need to register with the forum, that
is all. I would advise anyone who wants excellent information about solving
problems in Vista to register. It doesn't cost a dime. It's no different
than any other forum. If you want to benefit from the discussions and the
information provided then you should register. If you don't want to benefit
than you won't register. It is up to the individual.
I use ImageGrotto because it is free. The link for it is below. Save
the link in your Favorites folder and click on it when you want to provide a
screenshot. Click on the Browse button and find what you want to take a
screenshot of and then click on Host My Images. Once the image(s) are
uploaded simply right click on the bottom bar that says Show Image to
Friends/Email and then paste it into your newsgroup post.

Hello C.B.,
I am currently using "snipping tool" which is provided for by Vista, which is why I had such a shock. Anyone using a Vista should be able to just click the link and see the screenshot. I still don't understand why such an extra procedure for vista users.
Which comes to your Imagegrotto. People have to "register" too before watching the screenshot?

No. When you copy and paste the link from ImageGrotto, and someone
clicks on the link in a post, they will only see the image you have
uploaded. There is no need to join or register anything.
I also use the snipping tool to capture an image but I save the image
to my Documents or Pictures folders and then use ImageGrotto to browse to
the Documents or Pictures folder so that I can upload the image to
ImageGrotto. I then copy and paste the link from ImageGrotto.

Apparently, there are sites/forums that give access to what these
Microsoft-"forums" actually are: Usenet newsgroups.
This is what I get from the hearders of your message:

User-Agent: vBulletin USENET gateway
X-Newsreader: vBulletin USENET gateway

If you post via these gateways and include a screenshot, people using a
dedicated newsreader won't be able to see it. They just see a link to
the picture that's stored on the forum you use (the gateway to the
usenet newsgroup). If they click on it, their browser brings them to
the forum you used to post, and that is set up so that only registered
users can see the screenshot.

The fact that Miscorsoft itself is offering a crappy web-interface to
these newsgroups is bad enough. And I am totally against websites that
offer access to these groups via forums. Newsgroups are meant to be
accessed with dedicated newsreaders. Vista comes with one: Windows
Mail.

I suggest you to read these pages, so it can become more clear to you
if it isn't already:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Usenet
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Newsgroups
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/News_client

If you use a newsreader like Windows Mail, you can post screenshots on
sites like imageshack.us, and include a link to the picture in your
message. That way, everyone will be able to see it.

Hope this helps....

Hello C.B.,
I used your ImageGrotto and made a screenshot in a new thread " Can everybody see my screenshot now ?", under Vista Performance & maintenance. No one has yet to reply. Would you please be so kind as to take a look at my new thread, and see it's ok this time ? Thank you.
