| | Why is csrss.exe causing HDD thrashing? Why is csrss.exe causing hard drive thrashing in Vista? I think I may have had this in XP, too, but it is very noticable on this quiet Vista Laptop. I pinpoint it by checking Task Manager. It happens intermittantly - sometimes lasting for hours.
