| Re: Windows Explorer has stopped working!? Thanks for reply Links you gave never helped me. But users said if I turn UAC on, my problem will be solved. Are there other solutions or sites? And I don't have Digital Vault software. "propman" wrote:

Hmmm......couple of things I didn't notice when I replied previously...... 1) The file "rpshellextension.dll" seems to be one of Real Player's files which, as a possible source of the problem you are experiencing, ties into the contents of your "Multimedia" directory. 2) I didn't notice you had reformatted and reinstalled Vista....seems like that should have cleared the original problem up. If you have done the usual malware, spyware, virus scanning routines then I would be taking a hard look at uninstalling Real Player.......use an alternate media player for a while to see if the error still occurs. If it doesn't grab a fresh copy of Real Player, install and take it from there. PS.....don't really see how UAC would affect it unless either unless a call to the UAC is required by a routine in the affected dll......I have been known to be wrong before and will be again I am sure! <grin> But....you could always just try turning it back on again to make sure. :-) | ||||||||||||
