is this the "event viewer" ? if so, it has a lot of "errors" - totaling 1,142....

I'm not sure which are from my last boot as it gives choices for 1hr, 24hours, 7 days and total. so I'm just gonna paste these from "today" here....

You would appear to have a multitude of driver err's
Have you been attempting to install any hardware, or updated drivers from
win update?
Do you have any restore points?

erm.. only thing i've added is a firewire card - but it was slow before that. can't say i've installed any other drivers except from when i did my fresh install - mobo drivers, graphics card, webcam, external harddrive etc

I would determine the hardware causing it and remove it. See if the problem goes away. Then, get Vista drivers for them and reinstall with new drivers. If not Vista drivers, replace hardware.

One thing to check for in the log:
Look at the times of each event. I bet you will find a big gap from one event to the next - that will be a clue that WIN is choking on something.
