Hi Guys,

This is my first post on this forum so I apologize if its in the wrong section, I assumed its performance related so here I go.



I have just purchased a Netgear DG834G v4 with the latest firmware and was shocked when I ran the Microsoft internet connectivity evaluation tool and it failed the "TCP high performance test" I did have auto-tuning=highlyrestricted and ECN=enabled, RSS side scaling=enabled, chimney offload=enabled and ctcp enabled. I did receive a warning message from vista that there was a problem with TCP settings so I just re-installed the router set-up from the installation CD and now find that all my beloved tweaks mentioned above have been disabled.
What I want to know is which tweak or TCP performance feature should I disable and which can I enable with this router??
I have contacted Netgear support but they are useless and worse than my ISP(Tiscali) support - I dont mind Indian call centres as long as they can understand me and I can understand them but I have found some are pretty good and some are really bad!


I would be so happy if someone can tell me which TCP tweaks I can use with this router?? thanks.
I will attach a screen-shot of the Microsoft connectivity test which tests your router for certain functions and capabilities.

Hi again,
I have since recovered my system and have found that Im still failing the Microsoft conectivity router test! so its not something on my system.

If anybody can assist then that would be good!
