| | ntoskrn1.exe I have the Sony VAIO VGN NR260E. When booting up my lap top an error shows that windons failed to start a recent hardware or software change might be the cause. I have not installed any new software or hardware on my LT. Now it is asking for a file ntoskrn1.exe status 0xc0000098 windows failed to load because a required file is missing, or corrupt. Any help would be great. I do not have a windows vista disc as it was all preloaded when I brought the LT in March 2008 Gary |

| Vista Home Premium 32bit | Re: ntoskrn1.exe Managed to resolve problem by quitting (ESC) pressing F10 and ENTER. This then eventually took me to a restore point option screen from where I selected my last good restore point. Paul |

| VISTA | Re: ntoskrn1.exe i HAVE EXACTLY THE SAME PROBLEM - got up this morning and turned on the laptop - received this error message. I can't anything to work, safe mode, previous known configuration, dos prompt...Nothing. Lucklily I bought an extended warranty on this thing....If anyone figures out how to boot to a screen that allows input, please let me know.. |
