Disable estimated time

So hilarious to watch Vista copy a 5 kB file and then spend 30 seconds
working out how long it is going to take. At least it was the first few
times... :-(

Any suggestions?

Re: Disable estimated time

Only takes about 1 second to copy a 5 MB file here... between folders on the
same drive.... with no computation, while there's a 9 GB network file
transfer going on in the background.

Are you copying to an internal drive, network, CD/DVD, USB drive?

Do you have SP1?

Do you have Remote Differential Compression turned on? Try turning it off.
Control Panel - Programs and Features (Classic View) - Turn Windows Features
on or off
