Vista - ATI Radeon X1200, Catalyst Control Center, Vista 32bit

I've got one of these

It came with Catalyst on it. Always worked a little weird, though, so I
figured I'd update to the latest version. Big mistake.

First I had to uninstall the old version. No problem. Then reinstall the
new. I've tried basically every version of the software that is compatible
with my system, INCLUDING the version that came installed in it. and I get
the same result every time.

"Catalyst install manager has stopped working"


Any ideas?
