I purchased my Sony Vaio VGN-FZ240E from Best buy and it was working fine till yesterday. My Laptop has Windows Vista Home premium and I purchased it around September or october of last year (2007). For the past 2 days my Laptop was getting restarted automatically and I am getting a message today saying 'This copy of windows is not genuine' in the bottom right corner. I have taken a snapshot of that screen in my camera. My windows Vista is a genuine version and I have the proof of License label stuck at the back of my Laptop with the product key for my Windows vista. I am now not able to logon to my Laptop in safe mode as well. One more thing I noticed is that on the same screen, the sony's support number was given to obtain more information on this. The number given was 239-768-7669. When I called this number for help, it was asking me to pay around 30$($29.99) if I had purchased the laptop more than a year before. Also the automated voice was asking for my credit card information. I am not sure if that was a genuine customer support number. I am not able to use my Laptop currently. Can someone please help?
