I have had Vista 64 Uultimate installed now for over 6 months and all was
great loaded really fast on boot up and also Programs loaded fast. Now in the
last 3 weeks it has gotten slower.
What can I do / check to put it back to how it was?
Thanks

Unless three weeks ago you installed new software that starts
automatically when you boot and is running in the background, almost
certainly you became infected with malware three weeks ago.

Run a good anti-spyware program. Do you run any? Try malwarebytes.

I believe it does.
> Does the one you sugest?
I believe that does too.
However, I have never run either one on 64-bit Vista, so you might
want to wait for someone with more 64-bit experience to verify what I
say.
Also note that running a single anti-spyware program is insufficient.
None of them is good enough to catch everything, and you get much
better protection if you run at least two or three.

May have waited too long to reply to this subject, but have you tried
Microsoft's Onecare safety scanner? it's free and picks up on most garbage
that malware venders install for your computing displeasure.
free, try it here http://onecare.live.com/site/en-us/default.htm

Two points regarding that product:
1. It was never one of the better ant-malware products around.
2. Microsoft has announced that they are discontinuing it.
