    CPU peaks in 5384

I have a nasty problem in 5381 and 5384.4. My CPU peaks every other second,
resulting in a temporary systom halt (cursor stops, sound interrupts, hard
drive pauses...). It is NOT a Indexing or Explorer problem! This happenned
to me in previous builds only when
installed to SATA drive. In 5381 and 5384, it doesn't matter if I install it
on IDE or SATA, the problem is persistent

    My config:

    Athlon 64 3000+ Socket 754
    Mobo Gigabyte K8VT800
    1,5 GB RAM DDR
    IDE and SATA drives (non-RAID)
    GeForce 6600 AGP
    Onboard Realtek AC97

    Any ideas?
    TIA

Have you checked Task Manager, under the Processes (tab) to see if there are
any specific applications that unusually eating up resources?

Maybe a driver-related issue? I had the same problem after installing the
    latest nVidia Forceware drivers.
