We'd love to help you but the above makes no sense. Please try again by
providing the missing details (stay in this thread). These links will show

Hi Joe,

I suspect your question is not about restore points and/or System Restore.

Did you use Windows backup to backup a folder and you now wish to restore that backed up folder?

I assume it is not showing in the backup listing, so you now wish to clear the list and browse to the backed up folder.

I do not use Windows Backup, but here are a couple of tutorials that may be of use

Back Up Files - Reset Last Backup Listing

Restore Backup Files

Hope it helps

Re: backup status and configuration

well because I backup every month and last month i switched my backup media
to a new hdd.
About 20 days later (now) i have had a folder i need to restore, i began to
perform what should have been the simple procedure of opening up the restore
option and selecting what i wanted to restore, however when i click the
"restore files" button and try any of the two options "advanced restore" or
"restore files" and click on the "add folders" button it immediately brings
up the "my documents folder" so i then go to "my computer" then select my
external hard drive from there where the last successful backup was made even
according to the front page of backup status and configuration and i receive
the following message

"(folder name) is not in the backup please try a different file or folder"

Even if i try the option which says "restore from a backup made on another
computer" it selects my hard drive then and sees the backup location and
time, but once i click the next page to select the folder again it will not
accept the hard drive as a location and gives me the same error.
