Anti Virus

Has anyone got an AV product installed on RC2? I have tried most, none are
compatible and Vista wont allow installation. Even MS's own Windows Live AV
solution isn't compatible yet... So far I have tried AVG, Trend, and CA, the
free versions, all betas by the way... none would install on RC2.

Re: Anti Virus

I had Enterprise installed on the post RC1 interim build, and it does not
always run on RC2. In fact, the active scan will not stay enabled.

Well, Microsoft has just released the Windows Live One Care 1.5 beta, which
is premised to work on the RC1 build (as well as the XP-SP2 OS). I have been
able to install and run on RC2 with no issues. Looks like 180 days w/o
activation (nice that I can rely on something that is being developed in
parallel with Vista - good way to build customer loyalty)

Given Microsoft's track record in regards to security with their browser and
OS, are you sure you want to trust your data and computer to them? Live!
OneCare should share the bejesus out of everyone...

RE: Anti Virus

AVG from Grisoft works fine for my RC1. Avast wouldn't install for me, even
though I've used it for years on XP HE. TTFN.

RE: Anti Virus

I'm using MS Live OneCare Beta for Vista. It is advertised for RC1 but I
successfully installed it on RC2. Just make sure you uninstall any other AV
first before installing OneCare. It seems to work fine. . .
