| | laptop shuts down during memtest I ran Memtest 86+ and Windows Memory Diagnostics in DOS mode with the battery removed. Both tests went on for an hour with no errors and then my laptop shuts down. It does that sometimes when I'm doing something in Windows, but most of the time it's fine. I download movies and play videos and multitask and it's fine. I wonder if the memory has errors or if the mobo is conking out. Gateway laptop AMD Turion dual processor 1.6 Ghz with 1GB memory which I recently upgraded to 2GB, Vista Home Premium SP1. |

I opened it up and there wasn't much dirt or dust around the fan and heat sink.
