static y screen displayed

    static y screen displayed

    i left my laptop turned on for a few hours. when i went back to restart a
    green shaky screen appeared. after a couple of restarts the screen displayed
    looked back to normal but now over the background display it appears like
    there is interferance or static can anybody help?

    This is a hardware problem indicating an issue with the video chip. Contact
    the laptop mftr.'s tech support since you can't fix this yourself.

    Malke's probably right, but before you send it out for repair, check your
    vents to make sure they aren't clogged with dust, pet hair, etc. If there
    are panels over the CPU and GPU areas, remove them and see how much build up
    is in there. Using canned air, you can blow it out against the normal air
    flow path. Do not tilt the can so liquid is sprayed. Make sure the power
    cord and the battery are removed before doing this.
