Vista - Error Code 8024400A

I have Vista RC1, build 5728. I have not been able to get any updates since
I loaded this build.
When I attempt to update, I get "Code 8024400A". I contacted Microsoft
regarding this matter.
Their response is that since this beta software, they do not offer support.
Their only response other than no support is to contact these newsgroups for
an answer....
So, is it because Micosoft no longer is offering updates for this build or
is there a configuration problem in my setup?

You can spend a lot of time looking for a solution to that error but the
answer I kept getting was that it was a known problem and it was fixed in
RC2. Well RC2 is not available through Microsoft anymore so the only way to
fix the problem is to download RC2 from another source. This is considered
taboo and dangerous but Microsoft is the one that put you and me in this
position. So either continue to use RC1 and receive a constant error
message or get a different build.
