Does the System State Exist Anymore?

    Hi everyone,

Hopefully this is a simple question. I'm familiar with the new backup that
Windows Vista provides and I know that a Complete PC backup will backup the
System State because it's creating a PC image. What I'm wondering is if the
System State is still something that can be backed up through 3rd party
backup utilities. Can a 3rd party backup utility offer a backup of the
System State as a part of the backup (without doing an entire PC image)?

Please only answer if you are familiar with this. I can guess as much as
the next guy, but I really need a pretty definite answer.

    Thanks for your help!
