    Control panel issue!!!

    Hello,

Am I the only one who has noticed once you change to "classic view" in the
control panel there is no way to change back. I read the help file on this
one and it said to click on "Control panel home" but I still cannot see this
    featured anywhere!

As soon as I clicked on "category view" the lefthand bar dissappeared, I've
gone into folder options and tried to bring it back with the 'show preview
and filters' radio button but it appears at this time that category view is
    gone!!

You're lucky - you haven't lost your entire Control Panel - but it's a known
bug. They said it'd be fixed by Beta 2... but nope (

    Oh well,

We can only hope that this issue is resolved and then sent to all of us in
the form of a windows update patch. It was the first thing I noticed that was
definately wrong apart from trying to make Sync Center dissappear which I now
regret opening to begin with. I've hidden it in the task bar but it's still
there... I just can't find where to get rid of it!

If I were you (take a hint from me... your problem was my intial problem,
but got worse...), copy and paste shortcuts of each Control Panel item into
a folder on the Desktop - because if your Control Panel disappears... at
least you can still access it then )

Strange, I can go back to the default Vista view simply by clicking
"Control Panel home" -- no hesitation, no problems.

How did you install Vista, upgrade or clean?

    Re: Control panel issue!!!

I'm having the same problem as Kooby. It's like when we click on the Classic
View the left sidebar just totally disappears and so we don't have the
opportunity to then click on Control Panel Home to get back to category view.
    *shrug*

If it helps any, I did an upgrade from Windows XP.

    Re: Control panel issue!!!

You can restore the normal control panel by closing all windows, opening
explorer, select show previews and filters from Folder Options, OK, then
click Change a setting button that just appeared and select Control panel
    home.

    Easy isn't it! :-)

Vista will bring many new support jobs which is always good!
