Why the hell do thumbnails cache and load so damn slow!!!?!?!?!?!?

I am a video editor. I need to make thumbnails from my movies. So I export
movies into jpegs. But when I go to the dir with the 500-1000+ jpegs from the
movie, I am greated with a wonderful 5 hour wait. It only loads the ones in
VIEW. So when you scroll down you have to wait all over again!!!! Scroll a
line weight 20 seconds for the line to load OVER and OVER and OVER. This is
ridiculous. When you have 40 lines of thumbnails to load. Upgrading to Vista
has made me 3 times less effiecient!!!

Someone please tell me what to change to fix this!!!
