Back up disk

I am using Windows Vista Home Premium and have tried several times to do a back up disk. It starts and part way through I get the following error.

Access is denied 0X80070005.

Can anyone help me?

Re: Back up disk

I'm Not sure But Maybe You Could Try This:

When you see "Backup & Restore Centre" Right Click On It & Select "Run As
Adminastrator"

Reason Why It Maybe Something To Do With Vista UAC Security.

Hope This Helps!

Re: Back up disk

It's possible you are using an antivirus program that is preventing Backup from running. Try disabling your antivirus or internet security software and try again.

It would be useful if Microsoft gave a meaningful error message rather then
'Access is denied 0X80070005.'

Re: Back up disk

I started with Norton Anti-virus (was installed on computer) and then switched to AVG. Neither program would let me do a back up disk.

Re: Back up disk

It sure would be nice, especially for people like me who aren't computer savy.

Re: Back up disk

Have you tried disabling the AV software altogether and then doing the backup? If this doesn't work, I will need to gather some additional information from you.
