| | Vista crashes (blue screen) after a few minutes while playing any I had XP SP2 and all my games worked fine, without any crashes. After I got Vista, any 3d game I have will crash in 5-15 minutes of playing, every time. I wrote down the "technical information" on the blue screen, it read: "Stop 0x00000124 (0x00000000, 0x8463F9A8, 0xB2000000, 0x00070F0F)". Also, when I restart the computer, the "error information" that comes up is the following: Problem signature: Problem Event Name: BlueScreen OS Version: 6.0.6000.2.0.0.256.1 Locale ID: 1033 Additional information about the problem: BCCode: 124 BCP1: 00000000 BCP2: 8463F9A8 BCP3: B2000000 BCP4: 00070F0F OS Version: 6_0_6000 Service Pack: 0_0 Product: 256_1 Files that help describe the problem: C:\Windows\Minidump\Mini042307-01.dmp C:\Windows\Temp\WER-24375-0.sysdata.xml C:\Windows\Temp\WER759D.tmp.version.txt My specs are as follows: AMD 4200 X2 dual core Radeon x1900xt 3 Gb RAM 7600 maxtor drive If anyone has any information on how to fix this I would be very grateful, thanks. |

| | RE: Vista crashes (blue screen) after a few minutes while playing any Looks like the game isn't vista ready. Lots of games don't work right under vista. Also, have you got the most up-to-date ATI drivers? They release updates biweekly it seems. -- Guy McNeill "dmchenry77" wrote: > I had XP SP2 and all my games worked fine, without any crashes. | | Re: Vista crashes (blue screen) after a few minutes while playing any Hi, Make sure you are using ATI's most recent driver set for the video card. If you want to send the sysdata.xml file to me, I'd be happy to take a look at it for further clues. I disabled Virtualisation in the BIOS and all seems to be fine now. I shouldn't activate this option, this is my fault. I don't have this problem on another computer but maybe there is a problem with virtualisation AND realtek audio driver (or nVidia, who knows)... Thanks. |

| | See if there is a BIOS update available for your computer. Also, Vista uses system memory (RAM) much more aggressively than Windows XP does. You might have a bad stick of RAM near the upper range of your memory. Try running the Memory Diagnostics Tool to test your RAM (start the tool by clicking Start Orb -> type "Memory Diagnostics Tool" into the search/run window) Lastly, is your computer overclocked? If so, try reverting to stock settings to see if that helps. |
