Vista - Boot manager on every restart

Every time I reboot Vista, I get the Boot Manager screen, with the options of
booting in a previous version, regular boot into Vista, or into repair discs.
The default is Vista. A 30-second timer counts down to give me time to
decide, and then boots into the default, unless I move it along by pressing
Enter.

Why am I seeing boot manager? This started on installation of Vista, by the
way, not a development that happened later.

I don't know why you're seeing the boot menu as it is only supposed to
appear if you dual boot or if you have chosen to manually create different
boot scenarios. Try installing VistaBootPro and remove the entries you don't
want showing.

Or the OP can use msconfig and Check Boot Paths.

It looks like you did a dual-boot install. Have you tried the option to use
an earlier version of windows? If so, what happens.
I dual boot with Win XP x64. But I set up my boot manager so that the choice
option only shows for three or four seconds. That's something you can adjust
if you use Vistaboot Pro, as someone else suggested.

You can also reduce the time it shows on your screen, or uncheck it and it
will not show at all.

Run "msconfig" and select the boot tab, What are the entries there for
operating systems? If there is more than one then select vista as the
default and either delete the other or set the time to show the operating
systems to 1 second.
