TaskManager in Vista Not Working

Somehow, I've damaged the functionality of the TaskManager (taskmgr.exe)
program in my Vista. Attempting to run it, from any direction
(Ctrl-Alt-Del --> Selecting it on menu; going to Explorer -->
C:\Windows\System32\taskmgr.exe) gets same results:
Pop-up box appears with no menu bar at top at all, 2 column display labeled
'Task' and 'Status' respectively, and at bottom there is only 3 buttons 'End
Task' 'Switch To' and 'New Task' respectively.
Nothing I do can seem to restore or go to the previous and familiar visible
format of TaskManager with it's variety of choices in providing information
and taking actions.
Suggestions (in easy step-by-step form)? Thanks in advance!

Try double clicking in the border.

Re: TaskManager in Vista Not Working

you are viewing it in what is called SMALL FOOTPRINT MODE.

simply double click around the border somewhere and it should switch back to full mode.

Re: TaskManager in Vista Not Working

What worked in Windows XP does not work in Vista.

You have to double click somewhere in the body of the active task manager
window or in the small blank space between the border and the information
pane.
