Typing and mouse arrow issues

Can anyone tell me why my cursor moves to wherever my mouse arrow is while
I'm typing? I will be typing an email and have the arrow off of my email
screen and after a sentence, my typing cursor will disappear and I will be
looking at the window the arrow was on. This is extremely frustrating as I
have to constantly move my arrow so it won't be moved for me.

Ideas????

Re: Typing and mouse arrow issues

Control Panel > Mouse
Pointer Options tab
Check Hide pointer while typing?

Re: Typing and mouse arrow issues

I did check this box and it worked initally but after typing for a while, the
pointer stopped hiding and my issue resurfaced. It is driving me insane!

RE: Typing and mouse arrow issues

JR, I have the same mouse cursor problem. I tried to follow Cal's advice,
and my Mouse | Cursor tab doesn't offer the "hide" function he mentions. I
feel like the statue at a pigeon convention.

What is your mouse? Have you downloaded and installed the latest Vista
compatible drivers?

Re: Typing and mouse arrow issues

Cal Bear, the "mouse" is the touch-pad thingy that is part of the Dell
Laptop. I don't have a problem if I plug an external mouse in.
