| | Event View red flagged error This is appearing over and over again in the Event Viewer/Windows Logs/System and although I know how to find the Component Services Manager I have no idea what to do to rectify it. The application-specific permission settings do not grant Local Activation permission for the COM Server application with CLSID {0C0A3666-30C9-11D0-8F20-00805F2CD064} to the user R2D2\Peter SID (S-1-5-21-903926626-2671550500-3200904235-1000) from address LocalHost (Using LRPC). This security permission can be modified using the Component Services administrative tool. Can someone advise me what to do please? -- Peter Toronto, Canada XP Pro SP2 x 2 + Vista Ultimate Triple Boot P4 HT @ 3ghz, 4gb DDR, 700gb HDD Soundblaster Audigy 4 PCI Sound ATI Radeon X1650 Pro AGP Graphics |

| Windows Vista™ Ultimate | Yeah I get that exact same error message showing up quite often with a bunch of other mysteriously vague events, I put it down to disabled or old xp related services being called by some old code. Most of these errors dont mean much since there not usually related to anything serious, Vista will proberly have hundreds of them over the next few years. |

| | Re: Event View red flagged error All I know is that its an event 10016. I fiddled around with permission but seem to have gone a bit overboard here: (Pic below) -- Peter Toronto, Canada XP Pro SP2 x 2 + Vista Ultimate Triple Boot P4 HT @ 3ghz, 4gb DDR, 700gb HDD Soundblaster Audigy 4 PCI Sound ATI Radeon X1650 Pro AGP Graphics "dmex" <dmex.2rmlpf@no-mx.forums.net> wrote in message news:dmex.2rmlpf@no-mx.forums.net... > > Yeah I get that exact same error message showing up quite often with a > bunch of other mysteriously vague events, I put it down to disabled or > old xp related services being called by some old code.
