Unable to get diskcheck to check C-drive, keep telling me it can't open NTFS
I keep getting messages that C is corrupt
Can anyone help me with this?

1. Back up your data to external media.

2. Download a diagnostic utility from the hard drive mftr.'s website (or
get SeaTools from Seagate). You will create a bootable floppy or cd with
the file you download. You will need third-party burning software to
create the bootable cd. Boot with the media you created and do a
thorough test of the hard drive. Depending on the size of the drive,
this may take an hour or more. If the drive fails any physical tests,
then replace it.

3. After you have done the steps above, if the drive passed all physical
tests or you need more help, come back with the results and more details
about your computer. This link will help you organize that next post:

As Malke said backing up any important data would be wise. Then you could
boot with the Vista DVD (recovery console) and try running check disk from
there. Below is a link to a thread that you may find useful.
