fn keys

my fn key does not work to eject disc or to check the battery power level is
it a setting problem or hard ware problem

You might want to provide some details here... what kind of computer do you
have? I'm assuming it's a laptop. What are the specs?

All of my FN functions work without any manufacturer software, the only
button that will not work is my DVD eject button. For that to work I need
to install the manufacturers software.

TBH I prefer to lose this functionality rather than having a 20meg process
just to get it.
