| | Internet Explorer fails, after 30+ hours I have a problem where internet explorer 7.0.6000.16473 fails after about a day and a half, and also takes out Windows Mail 6.0.6000.16386. It appears as if I have lost my internet connection. However ping, and tracert both work. IE 7 can not connect, even when I can ping the website! -- David Hettel Please post any reply as a follow-up message in the news group for everyone to see. | | Re: Internet Explorer fails, after 30+ hours Hi, David. Please define "fails" in this context? BSOD? Spontaneous reboot? IE won't restart? HOW does IE fail? And what's special about YOUR computer (or ISP?), since I haven't heard of anything like this happening to anyone else's computer? RC -- R. C. | | Re: Internet Explorer fails, after 30+ hours Fails in this case means IE fails to load web pages. I get pages not found errors, and lose connectivity. Until I restart the computer. Only restarting the computer fixes the problem. No need to reset the router or the cable connection. I am running Windows Vista Ultimate, on an IBM T60. All of the current updates are applied. And as I stated ping and tracert both work, DNS is resolving address. But IE and windows Mail no longer can connect. Disabling the adapter and re-enabling it does not work. Disabling TCP/IP and re-enabling does not work. Rebooting does. -- David Hettel Please post any reply as a follow-up message in the news group for everyone to see.
