Defragmenting with Vista

Why is it when you defragment your main drive that it takes longer with Vista
than XP? Also, why is there not an option to choose what drive you want to
defragment? I love Vista's layout, but we should have some common views in
Vista that XP had, such as the defragmenter, it shows the color of files on
the drive and fragmented files, and is a lot faster to defrag.

Re: Defragmenting with Vista

Hello,

here's the explanation why the Vista defrag is as it is now: http://blogs.technet.com/filecab/articles/440717.aspx
If you want a more detailed defragmentation, either use the command
defrag
in an administrator command prompt or try another disk defragmenter program, e.g. Auslogics Disk Defrag http://www.auslogics.com/disk-defrag/index.php.
