| | Updates Vista / HP? Hi, I have 2 optional updates: Conexant - Sound - Conexant High Definition Audio nVidia - Video - NVIDIA GeForce Go 7600 When i install them, than the HP-update SW tells me that they have to be upgraded. If i executed them via HP-update than Vista says me again that i can install these optional updates? Somebody any experience with it? Thanks Huib |

| | Re: Updates Vista / HP? Hi, The rule of thumb with device drivers is simple. Do not upgrade them unless you are having trouble with the existing set or want to take advantage of a new feature. When you do upgrade them, get them from the device manufacturer, not Windows Update (which are often several versions old). -- Best of Luck, Rick Rogers, aka "Nutcase" - Microsoft MVP http://mvp.support.microsoft.com/ Windows help - www.rickrogers.org My thoughts http://rick-mvp.blogspot.com "Huib" <anonymous@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:O8lKMJFyHHA.4928@TK2MSFTNGP03.phx.gbl... > Hi, > > I have 2 optional updates: > Conexant - Sound - Conexant High Definition Audio > nVidia - Video - NVIDIA GeForce Go 7600 > > When i install them, than the HP-update SW tells me that they have to be > upgraded. > If i executed them via HP-update than Vista says me again that i can > install these optional updates? > > Somebody any experience with it? > > Thanks > Huib > |
