| Guest | file/folder security/ownership Hi, My first installation of Beta 2 was unsuccessful and left some folders (Windows, Users and Program Files) on a partition I tried to install to. Unfortunately, I didn't use the "roll back" option as I planned to install again anyway, only to another partition. Now I cannot get rid of these folders - I tried everything I could to take their ownership etc. but still am not able to delete, runnig Vista or XP (on yet another partition). There must be a simple and clearly defined way to do it. Can anyone help? Piotr |

Hello, Following these steps should work if you are running windows XP Professional. If you are running Home, you will need to re-start your computer in safe mode and log in as the built-in administrator. - right-click on the folder - click Properties - Click the Security tab - Click Advanced - Click Owner - Where it says Change Owner To, select Administrators - Put a check mark next to Replace owner on subcontainers and objects - Click OK - Click Add - Type: Everyone - Press enter - Click the check box under ALLOW for Full Control - Click OK You should now be able to delete the folder. ![]() - JB |

Does it mean that those folders are really undeleteable under Vista? Piotr |
