Backup Error

I am experiencing a failure of automated backup. I think I must be
configured correctly because the failure only happens about 25 per cent
of the time.
Windows Vista Home Premium(32), set to backup to an external USB hard
drive. The event viewer has it as;

> If an MM error is returned which is not defined in the standard FsRtl filter, it is converted to one of the following errors which is guaranteed to be in the filter. In this case information is lost, however, the filter correctly handles the exception. (0xC00000EA)

One thing that is probably important is the fact that the backup is
scheduled for 7 AM and the error occurs at 2:30 AM.

Help anyone?

Dave

Jill,
Thanks for the help, but I'm not sure the article applies to my
situation. The article points to "Etrust" AV as the culprit, but I am
currently running NIS 2007 (Not for much longer). Any chance Norton
might be an offender in this situation also?

Re: Backup Error

Dave, can you try turning off any setting that scan compressed files? If
that solves the problem, it might have the same root cause.

Eduardo,
I will set my AV to not scan compressed files, and see if the problem
goes away. To make the test valid may take some time due to the fact
that the problem doesn't show up all the time.

Thanks for the tip!
