Cold Boot

When I boot, and I guess reboot, the progress bars cross 33 times before it
goes to load the OS. Any suggestions. I am using Vista Ultimate upgrade from
Vista Premium. ASUS M2N-E motherboard, 4Gb ram, AMD X64 4400+.

RE: Cold Boot

A slow boot can be caused by many things. A fragmented harddrive, or a slow
loading driver.

To see if Windows has detected performance problems, open Control Panel, and
click on "System and Maintenance", "Performance Information and Tools". On
the left pane, click on "Advanced tools".

Under "Peformance issues" you can see performance problems that Windows has
detected.

To see more (advanced) information, open the Event Viewer and open
Applications and Services Logs>Microsoft>Windows>Diagnostics-Performance

Also, try to defragment your harddisk, sometimes that can help a lot.
