| | Re: Start up error in Vista Ultimate Have you used a program to delete a file, or files, at boot? Or have you used a defragment program that runs at boot? Anything along those lines? | | Re: Start up error in Vista Ultimate I use Diskeeper Professional but don't know if it runs at boot. I do know that the engine runs in the background. Should I discontinue the service? Or even better what would be a good utility to use with Vista? I uninstall programs using the conventional means Add/Remove Programs under the Control Panel "dean-dean" wrote: > Have you used a program to delete a file, or files, at boot? | | Re: Start up error in Vista Ultimate Using the Registry Editor, go to this key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Session Manager In the right-hand pane, what is the value Data for "BootExecute"? Is the Data for that entry exactly this : autocheck autochk * or has other stuff been added after the asterisk? This may help as to your problem: http://www.diskeeperblog.com/archive...m_not_fou.html "laffytaffy" <laffytaffy@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news F65E68E-68AB-40C8-9DCE-24DCF514C270@microsoft.com...>I use Diskeeper Professional but don't know if it runs at boot.
