please help.. everything has gone 'safemode' like on my screen!?

Hello! i left my computer on all night, woke up, touched the screen to get
it going again, and all the icons have gone big and weird like, as well..
windows (such as when i open internet windows..) seem larger and a bit
distorted... kindof like when you operate in safe mode.. but i certainly
never put it in safe mode..
does anyone know why this has happened? when i click on the desktop and
check the 'view icons'.. they are set to normal.. so i have no idea really
what's happened.. anyone have any idea?
thank you ever so much!

Click Start,
On the Search line, type MSCONFIG and hit return,
Check to see if a check mark is on Normal startup.

Can you set the resolution for your display to a higher setting? That would
be in Control Panel > Personalization > Display Settings. Something
happened that may have changed it. Have you tried restarting the computer?
