| | Fan goes crazy after waking from sleep Running the latest and greatest Ultimate x64 Vista on the latest and greatest cutting edge gear (single Woodcrest on a Tyan S2696 board, 4G of RAM). Whenever I wake the computer from sleep, the CPU fan goes crazy (upwards of 4500rpm) trying to keep the CPU temperature under 25C (or thereabouts). I have to reboot in order to get the fan settle at fixed 2000rpm. CPU temperature is, under average use, not higher than 40C. Note also that I have not toyed with the Power Plan: everything in this respect is at the Windows default values and profiles. |
