| Guest | Power Management Issues (Underclocked Processor) A few months ago, I installed Windows Vista on my Uniwill P50CA Notebook. Ever since installation I've had an issue with Vista's power management system. My CPU will only clock at 800 Mhz no matter which power scheme I've selected. I've even created a custom scheme in which the processor throttling is set to 100%. I've also noticed that the memory is not clocking as fast as it should. To check for a possible hardware problem, I installed Windows XP x64 on a second partition. In XP, the CPU and memory behave just fine. The PowerNow! functionality of the CPU also works fine. I've been having this problem for months now, and have been hoping for a driver release or some patch from Microsoft to fix this problem. I've been all over the internet and I simply cannot figure out what my problem is. I've also run the Windows Vista Upgrade Advisor from Microsoft's site, and it told me I was fine to upgrade. Their hardware compatibility website also says nothing about this computer. Please someone help me! I'm at my wits end. Uniwill P50CA (AKA Fujitsu-Siemens Amilo A1667G) AMD Turion 64 2.2 GHz |

| Guest | Re: Power Management Issues (Underclocked Processor) Your wits should end at the likely realization you can't run Vista on that machine, I'd stick with XP. | Guest | Re: Power Management Issues (Underclocked Processor) Sorry but I cannot agree with you.I have only got a Turion 2800+ CPU and Vista Utimate is running smoothly on my machine. CPUis not the only thing to concentrate...If you've got 2G mem then there's nothing to worry about. And to 06: If you want you CPU running under its full speed you can try using rightmark CPU utility to adjust the Clock mannually. -- A Falcom Games Fans!!
